They are dirty and depressing places to wait for trains. Infact the only decent stations underground seem to be on the Jubilee Line. -- personally I found all the stations on the tunnel section of the Jubilee line extension very depressing. Why do you need an announcer when there are signs which tell you which is the first train (District *or Circle*) to High St Kensington, and therefore to NHG? -- Richard J. ... It may be noisey but at least the station is new-ish and cleaned regularily. You saying Hillingdon is worse than, let's say, Kings Cross? Yes. I like Kings Cross tube station, especially the Met platforms. -- John Rowland - Spamtrapped Transport Plans for the London Area, updated 2001 http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Acro...69/tpftla.html A man's vehicle is a symbol of his manhood. That's why my vehicle's the Piccadilly Line - It's the size of a county and it comes every two and a half minutes |

Personally I'd suggest any of the stations on the bakerloo line between
queens park and stonebridge park. Ok , technically they're british rail stations and the stations themselves are not too run down but the areas they are in are Scumbag Central and I've felt unsafe at Harlesden in the day (and I'm quite a large bloke) , god knows what it would be like for a woman at night waiting at one of these hell holes. Elephant and Castle bakerloo station has a sign in the tunnels which has a
distinctly long suffering air about it: PUBLIC HEALTH NOTICE There are public toilets 100 yards away at ground level. Please refrain from using this station for that purpose. Jonn |

Most inaccessible to people with children in buggies? Hardest to pronounce? Ugliest: Wembley Central. Smelliest: Wembley Central. Most vandalised? Wembley Central. Inaccessible? Wembley Central. You're not keen on Wembley Central then? So which do you reckon is the hardest to pronounce? |
