Work on the London Underground by Metronet Rail.

They look a bit big for tube tunnels, are they only going to be seen on
the subsurface lines?

Yes. They will be used on the SSL and the western branches of the
Central, Piccadilly and Jubilee Lines.

According to the Metronet site, they are being used initially on the
Met, and later on the extremities of the District - the latter including
the part of the Piccadilly which run parallel with the District beyond
West Kensington.

Metronet = BCV
Tube Lines = JNP

Possibly Metronet is responsible for the Jubilee track north of
Finchley Road and the Piccadilly track west of Earl's Court, though.

Tube Lines are responsible for all tracks Finchley Road to Wembley Park.
Metronet take over the Met tracks just to the north / west of Wembley
Park.

Metronet are responsible for all tracks Acton Town to Barons Court. They
are also responsible for shared parts of the District / Picc Acton Town
to Hanger Lane Junction. Piccadilly trains obviously also run over SSL
tracks again from Rayners Lane to Uxbridge.

Last night at about 5 pm a long string of Metronet 66's were on the
freight line going under the West Coast Mainline at Stonebridge Park.
There was no sign of them this morning.

Two of them were due to be dropped off at West Coast Traincare's Willesden
depot and the other three were due to continue on to the GBRf depot at
Peterborough.

Can't help wondering if the bridges on the sections it'll work on will
be able to happily handle 130 tons of locomotive and the associated
axle loadings.
