Depends upon the exact time of day. Normally the quickest route is via
the North Circular. There is a 'cross country' route which, although
shorter, could take longer time wise. I'd allow one hour to be on the
safe side.

As a quick aside, if you get someone with sat nav it may well suggest
that you go up the M1, then M25, M4 to get to Heathrow. Very long way
round but no traffic lights after you get on the motorway - and god help
you if there's a problem on the M25.

I'd say that the North Circular, to Hanger Lane then, depending upon
traffic conditions you could go along A40 then down the A312 via Hayes
or if the traffic is very light then you could stay on N Circular and
get on M4 at J2.

The advantage of going that way is that you have several alternatives if
the traffic starts to get busy.

What is the time of your flight. I can then suggest the best time to
leave.

Hey Mike

thanks for your reply.

hell no M1.M25,M4 is a big no,no. Remember a story a minicab driver told me
about a passenger who insisted on going via M4. Spent 4 hours stuck in
traffic :-(

I was thinking about an hour myself.. I would need to get to T4 for around
11am. So was planning to arrange the Taxi to pick-up for 10am.

Cheers
Ryan
