Do the Congestion Zone cameras in London take pictures at times other
than the charging period (7am to 6pm, Mon to Fri)? I was discussing with someone who felt they might be left switched on and recording to keep an eye on criminal, terrorists, stolen cars, etc. |

If the license (or whatever it's called) states that it's for traffic charging only, then they can't use it for ANPR etc. D |

I'm sure if the police wanted to know who travelled past one of the cameras at midnight on saturday, they'd be able to get that information. In the same way as CCTV cameas at petrol stations can be linked to the national ANPR database. There are no places to hide in this supposedly free country. |

If all this was working as well as it is said it would, then all those cartax dodgers and SORN violators would quickly get found out. But it seems they still do not get found out. http://tinyurl.com/2pqo25 |

My experience of other areas of police work is that they will often use evidence which will not be admissable in court if it leads them to other things which would be. |

The poor old fuzz are "locked in" to stupid laws which help no-one
Hence people getting off speeding caught on average speed cameras as the offenders had changed lanes and the service had not got the authority for the cameras in different lanes to exchange information!
