JLE site in Southwark Street
A lot in Redcross Way SE1 is surrounded by a delapidated hoarding covered in LU roundels. An aerial view is at http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=...4337&encType=1 It's directly over the JLE and was presumably purchased under that project. It must be worth a fortune, that close to London Bridge station. So why are LU still holding onto it and barely using it? I'm guessing that it will be used in some way for the TL2k project. Maybe it was deliberately picked to be in a location where it would be useful for both projects? Or have they sold it, and the new owner has failed to remove the roundels? |

It's a very long story; basically it's amongst other things a the site of a plague pit, and the burial place of the "Winchester Geese". Have a look at this site for a flavour of things: http://www.blather.net/blather/2006/...rossbones.html Most locals would like the site to remain undeveloped. -- |
