Anyone heard this?
How come Her Maj opened the station TWO YEARS AGO and it's been empty and unused ever since? Is it true Ashford complained so much that Stratford's opening has been put back to 2010 at least? Post substantiated fact/ wild unfounded rumours here please. |

I heard it's because that's where Diana and Dodi are secretly living. Jonn |

ITYF it was completed only last year. and it's been empty and unused ever since? Hardly surprising - it couldn't have been used before November this year when the trains actually start running? Is it true Ashford complained so much that Stratford's opening has been put back to 2010 at least? No - It's because Stratford Station is in the middle of building site until at least 2010. Unless anyone knows different, the Stratford City development hasn't commenced yet? What's so wrong with building the infrastructure first anyway? People would soon complain if it was the other way round, which is usualy the case in this country.. Paul |

No - well, not since a very long time ago. The station is literally in the middle of a building site at the moment - there is no access to it by road, conventional rail, Tube or DLR. It will open once the DLR is connected, probably for Javelin at first (I'm assuming the sensible plan of referring to the whole CTRL Domestic service as Javelin, rather than merely the month of Olympic shuttles, is ultimately adopted). E*s are likely to begin to stop - dependent on demand, timetabling and the success of Ebbsfleet -once the surrounding area actually contains buildings and people, and once the site is accessible by foot and road. -- John Band john at johnband dot org www.johnband.org |

Can't see that being too popular. The service has been speeded up with a new line only to be slowed down again with an extra station stop. Seems a bit farcical to me anyway having an international service calling at a station only 4 miles from where it started (could you ever imagine the french building a new TGV stop in the Paris suburbs?). Best left to the local services. B2003 |
