More excitement at Waterloo
Whilst the plasma screens are being relocated the old solari indicator board
has come back into use over platforms 15-19, apparently this will be for a couple of weeks. |

When will they see sense and dispose of the damned things, replacing the Solari boards with a high-intensity amber LED setup like Euston's? Mistakes have been made with the use of plasma on the railways, and it's been proven that the LED displays are a good evolutionary improvement on the original Solari, with them springing up all over the country. Let's forget them, stop wasting money on trying to make flawed technology work, and move forward with something that clearly does the job. Because to do that would be to admit that some stupid sod at railtrack fell for all the sales patter, now, that wouldn't be on would it? The old 'ticker' boards didn't break down as often as the plasma screens and were visible in bright daylight! Also, the plasma screens look out of place in such an old station. |
