Anybody else remember the Q stock on the East London line which always showed Olympia - upside down? Not on my 1971 pictures of it. See www.rosenstiel.co.uk/trains, though the pictures could be clearer on destination plates. -- Colin Rosenstiel |

Appropriately enough when it was built the only building on it was a police station. You have been bitten by a Urban Legend I think Postcode of "police station" and Google/Multimap link please. http://www.multimap.com/maps/?qs=let...countryCode=GB Peter Smyth ..and a Guardian article from 2000 (with a few other vaguely amusing street names listed) http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2000/fe...rtinwainwright ~cj |

Quite a few in fact. Will there one day be a Rosenstiel Mews in Cambridge? Logically yes because my wife was also a councillor for 26 years until she retired in May, but no chance in practice. People won't be able to spell or pronounce it. Surely being unspellable is one of the critieria for a new road name. Incidentally, tonight I discovered that one of the road signs in Helvetia St SE6 says "Helvtia St". Lewisham Council doesn't know its ares from its eblow. |
