Although presumably the computer problem resulting in randomly changing information on the platforms also affects the Web version? Interesting to hear about computer problems affecting platform information. I was at Lewisham DLR at about half past two yesterday. Train sitting in one platform, platform display saying "Stratford - 11 minutes". Empty second platform with display saying "Bank - 5 mins". Everyone was waiting on the platform for the earlier train to come in, when the train already there closed its doors and left, and the display changed to "Stratford - 8 minutes". A platform full of very annoyed customers, myself included! Is this a long-standing problem? I don't use the DLR that much. Patrick |

There's a bit of an explanation here http://groups.google.co.uk/group/uk....320c66ad?hl=en Although there's been a much longer-standing problem at some places, where the display simply freezes (sometimes for days) while the clock keeps working, suggesting that it's up and running, but the information never changes. |

News [as delivered by Paul C from the TfL minutes and reports} that - Initial patronage levels on DLR Woolwich extension are encouraging. and - target date forTowerGatewayDLR reopening is 15 Feb 2009! ... is good news indeed for us here in Woolwich and environs. Fingers crossed for *TowerGateway- in the best DLR tradition of projects completed ahead of schedule. Definite information being given out now that it's 2 March. Service pattern here http://dlr-admin.appius.com/uploads/...ster_v4_aw.pdf Something I didn't pick up on before is this "horseshoe" platform with separate arrival and departure. How can that work in the space? I obviously wasn't paying attention. Or maybe they just mean single track, out one side and in the other side, and a concourse at one end. That must be it. For a minute I thought it meant trains running round somehow ... |
