![]() Don't recall seeing this posted here before, and I've just noticed it: Underground Customer Charter Refunds can now be lodged on-line: http://tube.tfl.gov.uk/charter/ It's a great idea - have this set as my brower homepage, so upon arrival at work, the disgust with TFL is fresh and a claim for the delay is lodged immediately. Having to fill out a paper form means a possibility of forgeting to claim. Now I can claw back some of the tax and council tax I pay for getting a thrid world service. If only every public service had a refund charter! Cheers, Jason. |

Also, is the Northern Line disruption covered under the charter ? The delays on Sunday do as the cause was not 3rd party (Actually, are contractors 3rd party ?), but what about this week ? They advertised there would be no service so I suppose that covers them from charter claims Now I can claw back some of the tax and council tax I pay for getting a thrid world service. The "your.thetube.com" service (which is what you must log in to) only holds a postcode. Mine dislays on the charter form, but everything else must be entered each and every time. TFL don't want to make it too easy do they? ;-) Cheers, Jason. |

I would be very surprised if they do that. When a charter form is received at LU, do they actually check all the times etc and then the reason (Ie: Pay up if it was there fault). A short time ago when there was a signal failure on the Victoria Line, the driver announced that charter forms could be used to claim compensation. I've never heard of any LU staff ever mention them apart from that occasion. |

That would be handy, but I doubt refunds will be given to people without them doing some leg-work. Other customer focused organisations might - but this is TfL! The form above incorporates space for Oysters, which is better then than the paper version. Cheers, Jason. |

I notice the statement that they do not accept responsibility for delays on
National Rail - is this correct even if passengers have LU Travel cards ? I use the Chiltern Line to Amersham and have always been able to claim before. |

Unfortunately, however, TOCs generally only pay out for delays of an hour or more, as opposed to London Underground's 15 minutes, and even then they're only obliged to give you a 20% Refund on the leg of the journey you made, so if you only paid £10 Return, and you're delayed by an hour on the Return, they're only obliged to give you £1 back. LU, however, give a refund of 100% of the Single Fare for the journey you were making. HTH, Barry -- Barry Salter, Read uk.* newsgroups? Read uk.net.news.announce!
