Of course not. He/she was the subject of much conversation, though.

Things must've been dragging if you discussed me in detail. Obviously I
didn't miss much.

We decided you must be a 15-year-old girl really.

Whatever floats your particular fantasy boat.

At our end of the table, I failed to steer the conversation round to
contentious subjects, like whether it is incorrect to spell the word in
front of 'Pancras' out in full when it's in the name of a station, and
whether Cambridge City Council still delegates street naming to its
officers.

I missed those.

That's because I *failed* to steer the conversation round to those subjects.

I was alluding, perhaps too obliquely, to the facts that (a) in a recent
thread you (I think) typed 'Saint Pancras' in full [1] for the name of the
station - I felt that was wrong (much as I usually dislike abbreviations)
but I failed to challenge you on it at the time; and (b) in a thread a few
months back, I suggested to Colin that councillors, if they so chose, could
'undelegate' street naming matters and take back control themselves.

[1] I am of course aware that there is a church just opposite the pub where
we were meeting which uses the full version 'Saint Pancras Parish Church'. I
just feel that the full version of Saint is wrong for the station, which is
St (or is it St.?) Pancras.

I thought there was only one LUL employee there.

Uh, just re-read that; there not here!

Maybe I'm just a good representative?

Shame there weren't a few more new faces though (not that I had any
problem with the existing ones you understand).

Maybe next time?

I'll try next time - can I suggest though the pub is the Bree Louise by
Euston as it's a proper real ale (rail ale) pub and I get a beer
discount as a CAMRA member...

I just did some research.
My son and I went from Moorgate to Euston; the Bree Louise at the corner
of Euston Street and Coburg/Cobourg Street was unpleasantly crowded at
1800 on Saturday; 2 pints cost 7.20; I got 2.30 change from 10.00; the
barman coughed 0.40 when challenged - b**tard still did me by 0.10; we
returned via the 20 minute Out of Station interchange at Euston Square
to Barbican. YMMV. I prefer the Doric Arch and see no need to visit the
Bree Louise again.
