Reading the commentary it looks as if delays mean that is probably a realistic date. Thanks Paul - been intending to ask about this, as the date shown for the opening of the extension on the relevant DLR Development webpage [1] was quietly changed recently (within the last month or two I think) from "Summer 2010" to "Autumn 2012". [1]http://developments.dlr.co.uk/extensions/stratford/whatnext.asp Having gone past the line this morning on a Jubilee Line train it is clear that the stations look close to completion. Signage is installed but covered over, PA and CCTV is installed as are other bits of kit like lighting etc. I expect it will need commissioning and testing but otherwise it's pretty much there. I suspect the next bit is livening up the traction power and signalling and getting it gauge tested and then test running with trains. The one bit I have yet to see is the DLR "international" station - has anyone any idea how this is progressing? -- Paul C via Google |

We caught a train from Stratford International on Saturday evening, I don't know where the DLR station is supposed to be, but there's now hoardings up all over the entrance to International (where the shuttle bus stops) so presumably they've started building access ways to the DLR there. But why didn't they do that when they first built the station? Also does anyone know where at Stratford Regional the new DLR platforms will be? Will they be near the existing DLR or somewhere else completely? -- Roy |
