Default No tains on Sunday its Christmas

Why were there no trains on FGW and SWT on Sunday? Even airlines were
flying out of Heathrow. So what makes railway staff so privileged
that
they can't work on a pseudo-Boxing Day. Naturally the Underground was
largely closed once again due to strike action - but their staff
don't
care about the public anyway. I saw quite a few staff / pickets at
Marble Arch being given a mouthful by irate shoppers. I saw hundreds
of arrivals at Heathrow largely stranded because they couldn't get
into Central London, even though a skeleton Piccadilly Line was
running between Heathrow and Hyde Park Corner, after which they could
well be victims of rip-off charging by the black cab / mini cab
fraternity. We must be the only country in the world to shut up shop
so completely on Christmas day, and this year on the day after too.
Great for tourists - not. Sorry you can't get to London - the
Country's
closed today. CJB.

The fact that their employer thinks that the revenue that day would be less
than the cost of running the "service".

An extended Christmas is presumably also useful for engineering work.
