Mitcham Junction is a train and tram stop. A huge ramp has been built
there leading from the railway bridge down to the southbound platform. It is not at the moment open to the public but I cannot imagine anyone ever using it when it is opened. There is a recently resurfaced road and pavement that lead straight to the same platform. |

The other bridges at that site seem very pretty; the Mitcham Jct one is a bit ugly. |

Found this snippet in a search of Merton's website: "...Merton Council is installing a walkway from the main road to the station which will make step free access from the overbridge from the London Road direction quicker and easier than using the existing footpath and road." Don't know if that makes any more sense - does it just separate people from the access road and the junction? Paul S |

Don't know if that makes any more sense - does it just separate people from the access road and the junction? If I were there - and I have been there with a child in a pushchair, but northbound - I would always use the direct route; it looks much quicker and it does not have that zigzg. |
