Golly, it's exciting, but my Oystercard worked on PrePay today. It even now tells me what journeys I've taken. Where? I couldn't seem to find such things on their web site. Good, aren't they? Except it seems that it didn't charge me the correct fare in the 2004 fare guide for a DLR journey I made yesterday (charged £2.00 instead of £1.80). I only glanced at the reader, so I'd be interested to see a journey and charged fare list to confirm this. Cheers, Luke |

Last night, there was a report that a PW crane had overturned at West
London Junction, blocking several of the Waterloo lines in the vicinity of Clapham Junction. Similarly, this morning's traffic reports say continued blockage at Clapham due to overrunning PW works. Now, as far as I know, West London Junction is actually at Willisden, and therefore any incident there shouldn't affect traffic to/from Waterloo at Clapham. Can only presume wrong junction listed. Anyone know the true location? |

West London Junction is also the name given to the junction where the spur to the West London line branches off the main line from Waterloo just before Clapham Junction - IIRC, it is the spur used by Eurostar trains going to and from the North Pole depot. -- Paul Terry |

I saw this crane on its side at about 6pm. My journey from Waterloo to Guildford was lengthened from 40 minutes to 2 and a half hours by this incident. -- remove 'spamfree.' to respond |

Not yet found it on the website. But, find a ticket machine with a screen attached. Wave your Oystercard at it, and follow the simple instructions to see the usage of your card. It's up-to-date to the second, so if you walk through the exit gates (while swiping) and then use it, you'll see that the journey you've just finished is also included. This works even for travelcard journeys, which it marks down as costing £0.00; this might be because my card has prepay on it too. j |

I went from Fulham Broadway (Zone 2) to Old Street (Zone 1) yesterday intending to change from the District to the Northern at Bank/Monument. However the passageway was closed and there are signs directing everyone to make this connection at street level. I am quite disturbed that I was charged £2.00 for the Fulham - Bank/Monument district line bit and a further £1.60 for the Bank/Monument to Old Street bit, it's hardly my fault that the subway or escalators or whatever are being rebuilt and it is necessary to leave and reenter the station because of this work. I did not stop anywhere between the two platforms, I went directly from one to the other via the signposted route. The station staff at Old Street had no idea how to fix it. I shall have to call the Oystercard helpline I guess. |

I envisage cases when a passenger is too rushed to check what he has been charged and may not have the time to rectify matters later. -- Helen D. Vecht: Edgware. |

Phoning the Oystercard helpline, they say that they are unable to resolve this sort of problem (they also think Old St is a National Rail Station and has no tube service) and it has to be fixed by tube station staff. So I talked to them at Fulham Broadway today and they say the Oystercard helpline has to fix it! What next? |

I should add that the closed passageways at Bank and Monument are not a figment of my imagination, it is logged at http://tube.tfl.gov.uk/content/nexus/ : "BANK AND MONUMENT STATIONS: Restricted interchange between the Circle/District Lines and the Northern Line until March 2004." |

I thought people were being directed down the escalators to the DLR and then up the stairs to the Northern Line. The only connection that is closed is the escalator shaft to the Northern Line, which was always signed only for that purpose from the District Line platforms. -- Richard J.
