I noticed the other day that there are no Oyster validators at the
eastbound entrance to Hounslow East station. There are currently 2 seperate entrances for the different directions due to ongoing* refurnishment work. How will this work for prepay users? If they start their journey there they will have no entry record, and if they end there, they will have overpaid. *this station has been undergoing refurbishment for about 4-5 years now and its still not finished. Lat year "phase 1" was completed with a new entrance/ticket hall/starirs to the Westbound platform. I saw a poster which said that "phase 2" which is a link from the new ticket hall to the Eastbound platform (which looks almost finished) will not be complete until December 2004! Phase 3 which is installing lifts to both platforms will start after that. Why is it taking so long? Why didn't they biuld the lifts at the same time as the other parts? By the time it is finished they could have built another channel tunnel :-) Kevin |
