You can get a bank card at 11, and under 12s travel free on London public transport. All under 12s or just those resident in London? (Or even some further restriction - e.g. only those at state schools in London?) Ah, my mistake: the free travel on tubes is only when accompanied by an adult. For unaccompanied travel, although it's free for under-16s on buses and trams, you have to pay (capped at £1.30 a day for off- peak) for the tube, with a child oyster which is available to all. You have to be living in a London borough to get that extended to 18. Not so: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tickets/14308.aspx#app2 |
