http://www.raib.gov.uk/cms_resources...ren_Street.pdf. As ever, an informative and readable account, and one that I think will interest Boltar. It's not the RAIB's job to assign blame, and these things normally read as more bad luck than serious incompetence. In this case, though, it's clear what the inspectors think of the train operator's competence. |

Unfortunately the fad of introducing ever more overcomplicated technology-for- its-own-sake systems in all walks of life tends to lead to this sort of thing when humans have to interact with it. Look at the final report on that Air France crash. Sometimes keeping it simple really can be a life saver. B2003 |
