I'd say they were expensive, but others may disagree. Taxis are fine in moving traffic but very expensive in traffic jams. I took a big load of new computer equipment home to Burnt Oak on a Saturday for £25, from Evesham Computers in Central London. Did a mile and a half in the snow last night *extremely* slowly, which was £10 (very decent cab driver though, didn't want to be paid but I insisted) IKEA quoted £25 for a cab to take me + purchase home (4.5 miles). Thought 'stuff this', went to adjacent Tesco (Brent Park) & got a minicab for £8. -- Helen D. Vecht: Edgware. |
