What is the reason for not driving all the way? A good question. Or at least driving to somewhere well motorway-connected like Stratford if they've been firmly told (as sometimes happens) that there's no on-site or nearby parking. There are seveal underground carparks at CW - I parked in one the other day and it had plenty of spaces at about 1.30pm when i got there. It seemed quite roomy but maybe not enough for a minibus. Minibuses can be awkward in London generally, as most car parks are underground or multi storey so they won't fit, whole coach parks won't always accept them. But I am sure with a bit of research one could be found. Neil -- Neil Williams. Use neil before the at to reply. |

Oyster is much cheaper, but may not be worth buying for a one day trip. One other thought: try and have a DLR ride through Docklands if you have time. The views are great, especially from the front (driverless) car. The kids will love it. |

They cover zones 1-6 which is ideal for Stanmore - Canary Wharf and back. How does group tickets work? Does each member in the group get a ticket, so they can go through the gates, or will they have to ble let in by a member of staff? -- jhk |

All good suggestions. If Hillingdon doesn't provide suitable parking, there must be more options one station further out at Uxbridge? Admittedly I've not used Uxbridge for years, but back when I did there was no parking at all at the station, and very little nearby. I can only assume that it's got worse since. -- David Cantrell | semi-evolved ape-thing Us Germans take our humour very seriously -- German cultural attache talking to the Today Programme, about the German supposed lack of a sense of humour, 29 Aug 2001 |

We will be leaving school at 6am and we need to arrive in Canary Wharf by 11am. I am no expert on the motorways but is 4 hours enough time to get from Liverpool to Stanmore allowing for the inevitable rush hour delays you will hit at some point on your journey? Should be OK provided that you leave at 6, and that 6 isn't really just a vague suggestion to the children and their parents that they might like to vaguely consider possibly getting out of bed by 6. Use the M6 Toll, as the M6 through Birmingham has horrible road works at the moment.
