2014, Roland Perry remarked: In message , at 10:34:49 on Sun, 23 Feb 2014, gordonT remarked: A person has been hit by a train at Palmers Green. This is causing delays of up to 60 minutes to trains between London Kings Cross and Stevenage. Engineering work is taking place today between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage meaning that all trains travelling from and to London Kings Cross are being diverted via Hertford North. Yep! I've just sent someone off to London via Liverpool St (when Kings Cross would have been the usual route). I think it's something like the fourth trip out of five that's been severely disrupted in one way or another. And that trip turned into a complete farce... Passenger delayed 17 minutes on journey from Ely (departing 20.58) to Cambridge and thus "missed" the 21:32 Greater Anglia to Liverpool Street. I say "missed" because it was cancelled. Advised at Cambridge to catch 21:51 to Stratford, but that too was 17 minutes late, at Tottenham Hale, thus missing the last Victoria Line tube (23:44 at Kings Cross). Eventually got to Liverpool St at 23:54 via Stratford mainline, thence Circle Line to Kings Cross. The FCC service from Cambridge to Kings Cross was delayed as predicted, and arrived at 23:08 (46 late) - a journey time of a little over 2hrs, but still better than the 3hrs via Stratford. -- Roland Perry |
