Do you know why Clapton pond was emptied in the first place? I remember
many a happy hour feeding the ducks there with my then two year old son.

I don't know about the Murder Mile but there was a drive-by shooting
there (Clapton Pond) three or four years ago.

Not a clue. It had water in as recently as June '03, but has been dry
since at least October, i think. It might have something to do with repair
work being carried out to the pond lining. Or it might not.
