Default LU Stock Transfer Routes

Anyone tell me anything about the stretch of line which links the
District with the East London Line? Is it entirely in tunnel and
double-tracked? How long is it? Where does it branch off from the
District and where does it join the East London?

This is St Mary's Curve, which leaves the District, in a southerly
direction, by a facing junction, when travelling EB, between the old St
Mary's Station and Whitechapel.

Have a look at this very good site
http://www.trainweb.org/tubeprune/ro...20diagrams.htm

Has its use always been restricted to one train in one direction at a time
because of
tight clearance? Has anyone on the group travelled it over it?

And where else on LU are there similar non-passenger stretches to allow
for stock transfers etc.?

King's Cross loop between Picc & Northern.
Baker St, between Bakerloo and Jubilee.
Finsbury Park, Vic- Pic.
