Let's say that our passenger is at Southgate and heading for Waterloo. Normal route would, of course, be to change from Piccadilly to Northern at Leicester Square or, if they've got a bit of luggage, a pair of cross-platform interchanges (Picc to Vic at Finsbury Park, Vic to Bakerloo at Oxford Circus). PrePay for that at the weekend is £1.80. Let's say that our poor passenger felt a little unwell en route, so decided to head to the surface at Finsbury Park to continue his journey as far as Kings Cross by wagn. (LU tickets being interavailable on wagn between FPK and KGX). Remembering, of course, to use the validators at Finsbury Park and Kings Cross (Suburban). He then continues his journey by taking the Victoria Line on to Oxford Circus and doing the cross-platform change to the Bakerloo. In this situation, would Oyster recognise the wagn - Victoria Line change as a continuation of journey, or would he get charged an extra £1.60 for the Zone 1 Single from KX to Waterloo? Provided your poor passenger validated their card properly and interchanged in sufficient time at KX then this should all work as a through fare and not two separate deductions. The system logic is designed to recognise the LU validity on WAGN. -- Paul C Admits to working for London Underground! |
