There is a new TfL leaflet out mentioning a few changes:
Bus passes no longer need photocards from the 26th Sept Tube tickets and LT cards are now valid on Silverlink from Gunnersbury to Stratford, Custom House to North Woolwich, and Willesden Junction to West Brompton. Oyster Prepay may be available in the future on addtional National Rail routes in future at different rates to the Tube rates. Still no mention of capping..... |

In the Oyster website if you search for "capping" in the "Ask Oyster" section, they state that capping will not be made available until 2005. "We are hoping that fare Capping will be introduced early next year - look out for posters." |

The Silverlink validity is good news and hints at the planned takeover of these routes by TfL. Is Prepay valid on them? If so, you'll be able to go a very long way for a £1 fare at weekends - Uxbridge to Upminster or even Heathrow to Epping! But before I speak too soon... when are the revised fares for 2005 due to be announced? We're meant to be expecting fairly large peak-time rises in Travelcards & the congestion charge, with possible reorganisation of the zone structure and encouragement to use off-peak services - which suggests major changes in ticket prices for all journeys. -- Dave Arquati Imperial College, SW7 www.alwaystouchout.com - Transport projects in London |
