As you will all know by now I am a fan of the now non virtually non
existant 'Underground' stock the 59s/62s/72 Mark 1s and 83s. Photographs of the old stock in its current (and in some cases recent but not anymore) locations can be found at http://underground.fotopic.net/ and I have just updated this to include Acton depot. As I understand it the breakdown is like this:- Mark 1 1972ts ------------- Aldwych - 1 train not easily photographable obviously!! Acton - 1 train easily photographable see my site (http://www.underground.fotopic.net) Hainault - 1 train not photographable I am told There were reported to be some at London Road and Lillie Bridge depots but I couldnt see them today from the vantage points 1983ts ------ Cockfosters - 2 trains just about photographable Uxbridge - 1 train (still there? last time i went was 2002 with a load in there) should be photographable South Harrow - 2 trains Neasden - 2 trains but not photographable I gather. Again there used to be one at Northfield but I think this is gone now. 1959/1962ts ----------- 1962 at Hainault under preservation (i think - EMPHASIS ON I THINK!) 1959 or 1962 couldnt tell which at Acton and thats it I think I dont include the stuff in the museumas its not stored on the network If anyone can add to this or can explain where the Lillie Bridge and London Road ones are I would be grateful! Thanks C_B_C |
