I also downloaded this version with the peak £1 oyster bus fare. It has been replaced with the one available for download now. In this new version they have also increased some off-peak tube fares which do not include zone1 from £1.10 to £1.30. EEeeek! Will download new version then. Rather annoying/naughty isn't it? -- Helen D. Vecht: Edgware. |

The new one has definitely changed. It even says so on the cover page: "75% recycled." ;-) It has changed but the old one also states '75% recycled'... The two leaflets appear identical until you examine the details. They both state January 2005 as publication date... Definitely a good time to stock up on £0.70 Saver Tickets. They'll still be good in the new year. I couldn't get any (sold out) last December. -- Helen D. Vecht: Edgware. |

The morning peak £1.00 bus fare on prepay is still planned, although
its introduction will not take place until 27th February 2005, not on 2nd January like the rest of the fare changes. This info is from TfL publicity dated 24th December, so presumably later than either version of the fares leaflet? As to why the difference in dates, I have no idea... Keith |

An article on London Tonight in the week claimed newsagents have stockpiled tickets bought at the old rate and are telling customers they've run out of them. They said it was unlikely you'd find any available for sale until the price rise comes into effect. Bit of poor planning by TfL not throttling the supply in the run-up to the new fares, the extra cash would be better off going on the transport system, not to the ticket agent. Regards, Dave |

I've tried several local newsagents' in the last few days and none of them
will sell me more than one book of Saver tickets. Surely this isn't allowed if they have them? Thomas "Dave Plumb" wrote in message ... All tube station ticket offices sell Savers as I recall. Perhaps they
are above such activity; you could try purchasing from there. |

Except they have a contract with TfL and I'm sure keeping old stocks back to sell at a huge profit could backfire on the agent if TfL found out. Do the pass agents have to pay for their stocks of Savers in advance? It's a pity the sale of Savers don't have to go through the system used to issue Travelcards and Bus Passes as there could be no cheating that way. -- Phil Richards London, UK Home Page: http://www.philrichards1.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk |
