I just noticed that a single zone 7-day Travelcard outside Z1 is £11.20,
giving bus travel across London as well as Tube, rail and DLR travel within the zone. A 7-day Bus Pass is £11.00... just 20p cheaper. Let's say you live in Zone 2; if you make daily bus journeys but make a return Tube journey into central London just once, you will save 60 or 80p (depending on the time of day, and assuming you use stored pre-pay for the zone extension). If it's Zone 2, for your extra 20p a week you also get use of any local Tube, rail or DLR services, which could be extremely useful in particular parts of London.
