Is tomorrow ![]() Doesnt look liek we will have GPS unless I can borrow one by tomorrow morning Just out of interest, following Mikes directions we get to Parliment Square which is just near Downing street - what happens if you try and go down there? ![]() Do they have road blocks and stuff so only authorised personnel can enter? If you even try and stop on the road outside you will be moved on. I really would not even attempt to stop in a car at any point on Whitehall and then attempt to take a photo. -- Paul C Admits to working for London Underground! |

... this leads in to Lincolns Inn Fields you will have to check the car parking times very carefully as it is controlled by Camden council who are not the motorists friend Good luck and keep us informed Isn't Lincoln's Inn Fields the place where most of the square is controlled by Camden but one corner is by Westminster, both of whom operate different parking restrictions? |

Yes - the south side is in Westminster. One of the other streets which confuses people is Charing Cross Road. This is the boundary between Westminster and Camden - but what most people don't realise is that the boundary runs not down the middle but down the west kerb - so if you park on either side, you are in Camden. Many people with Westminster parking permits have been caught out by this. (Incidentally there is a good reason for it which I know but it's too boring to be told here) -- http://www.election.demon.co.uk "The guilty party was the Liberal Democrats and they were hardened offenders, and coded racism was again in evidence in leaflets distributed in September 1993." - Nigel Copsey, "Contemporary British Fascism", page 62. |

Yes - the south side is in Westminster. However, the restrictions seem to be the same, i.e. Mon-Sat 0830-1830, 2 hours limit. The rates are different though: Camden £4.80/hour, minimum 40p; Westminster £4.00/hour, minimum 10p (which gives you 90 seconds parking!). -- Richard J. (to e-mail me, swap uk and yon in address) |
