All thet want to do is get to their London Hotel to get some sleep. they have to go through Immagration/customs at LHR,then they find out busses/tube are not running If the roads going into london are bumper to bumper.a taxi ride would cost WAY too much. .. |

Colin Rosenstiel writes The TfL web site reports it as on route 30 while a BBC report said it was a 205. Do either of those routes pass along Woburn Place? No (unless there was a diversion in operation). Woburn Place routes are the four services that run down through Aldwych: 59, 91, 68 and 168. -- Paul Terry |

Perhaps they'd like to use a bus or train that may have a bomb on it, due to not being cleared by the police. If people want to get somewhere safely, they can damn well wait. Anyway, things are slowly starting up again, mate who works in London has just text me to say he's got back home ok. |

This won't do a lot for my fear of travelling on the underground. Someone has said the bus that was bombed was in fact a no.13 from Marble Arch to Hackney. Is this correct? Neill The 13 runs from Golders Green to the Aldwych, mostly down the A41... -- Helen D. Vecht: Edgware. |

Yes I'm in one piece and back at home. A very strange day in the office as events unravelled. The mood reminded me of the day after the Kings Cross fire back in 1987. There's not a lot else to say that isn't on the news. Very eerie in Central London early afternoon with many shops closed and large volumes of people walking to get about. Front line operational colleagues who helped with the evacuation looked like they'd had a tough time. There's a lot of work needed to get things back to normal so perhaps we could exercise a bit of common sense in how people comment? - don't expect a normal service to run immediately no matter how heroic people's efforts will be to get things running again. I headed off via Bloomsbury and Islington to get home. Bus services were starting by the time I got to the Angel as 38s headed into town. I picked up a 56 at Balls Pond Road and got home from there. -- Paul C Admits to working for London Underground! |

The Stagecoach website is now confirming that it was a bus on their route 30. This would normally travel south down Gower Street, not Woburn Place, so I presume a diversion must have been in operation. Small comfort, but at least this meant that the explosion occurred outside the BMA, where a team of doctors were able to provide immediate assistance. -- Paul Terry |
