so can you tell us when it is ok for us to smile again & stop crying ?

and could you forgive any of us poor sinners who although we have been
very private about it, have in times of weakness fallen into the pit
of GETTING ON WITH OUR LIVES

MOst of those in the tube were middle class commuters, not cockneys,
but the desire of the middle class to cheer themselves up at the expense
of cockneys, is noted.

What? Being a cockney has to do with where one is born, not the class
one is a member of. I also wonder why you think you know what class the
passengers came from.

I don't know who you are Sir, or where you come from,
but you've done me a power of good.

Hi guys, I too live in London and when the bombs went off I said "bad
**** happens" like so many others must have said.

This is definitely a grim situation. Of course we are all shocked.
But at the same time maybe we should take a little break and be less
dour.

In the Blitz, Londoners had countless jokes about their situation.
It's not inappropriate but it's a way of coping with the situation.

So where are the jokes about these London terrorist bombings? I
can't find a single thing on the Net.

This one was in my inbox this morning:

Whats the difference betweens cockneys and smarties?

Smarties don't blow up in the tube

That one seemed to start on uk.local.geordie and the poster was rightly
slated for it.
Derek.
