Actually, I forgot to mention, there's a completely brilliant webpage
dedicated solely to Paddington, and how & why it's appeared as a seperate station - and not - on the tube map over the years... Check out: http://easyweb.easynet.co.uk/~ursa/p...rains/padd.htm Well I like it anyway... G. "Cast_Iron" wrote in message ... Roland Perry wrote: In article , Geoff Marshall writes See my webpages at www.geofftech.co.uk/tubechallenge/ A couple of quick questions. How easy is it in practice to get each train's number from the front? What happens when you arrive on the platform and the front of the train in into the tunnel? Is your list of "dual" stations still definitive? 2. Stations which are geographically separate and not linked but which have the same name must each be visited. This applies to Shepherds Bush, (Central) Edgware Road, (Bakerloo) Paddington(Bakerloo and separately Circle/District) and Hammersmith (District & Piccadilly). [All on the Hammersmith & City line!] There was some recent discussion of Paddington, for example. What is it about Paddington that makes it "more separate" than Kings Cross? There are in reality three stations at Paddington. There are the original "Bishops Road" platforms, now the H&C, the Circle/District platforms and lastly the Bakerloo. The booking halls of the latter have been joined by tunnel whilst the former is at the country end of the mainline platforms. |
