As she is 30kg this could be difficult on a long escalator. I can pick her up when get on and off but it should be safe to put her down while traveling up. Like the sign says. Dogs MUST be carried. (You could always point this out to somebody without a dog and lend him your Lab for compliance purposes. "Look, mate, I don't want to be awkward, but it does say you have to carry a dog. And it just so happens I have one here you can borrow") Aren't children supposed to be carried aswell. It is going to be exceedingly difficult to carry a dog under one arm and a child under the other. Could you find out if Waterloo or any nearby stations have a fixed emergency staircase or a lift.
