Was an inconvenience changing at Warren St for Northern Line, but understandable in the circumstances. Problems though currently southbound due to a defective train at Finsbury Park No sign of this as I walked into the main line station from Euston Road. Not that I was looking very carefully, admittedly. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/press-cent...t.asp?prID=433 -- Paul C Admits to working for London Underground! |

I was as surprised as the next person when the Northern Line driver at TCR said that Kings Cross had opened for Vic Line services. We certainly had not had an internal E Mail announcing it before I left the office. I get a sense that KX had only been open for maybe an hour or less by the time I went through. The first priority may well be to get lines working and people moving with the money bit coming a slight second to having staff in a visible and reassuring position. Certainly a number of the replacement buses or supplementary buses on some routes are not taking fares. I'm sure the ticket office and ticket machines will be covered pretty soon. -- Paul C Admits to working for London Underground! |

I've asked WAGN the same question about stopping more services at Finsbury Park. Or even better still stop more at Alexandra Palace and Finsbury Park. With the volume of people who normally get on at Bounds Green/Wood Green the trans are getting pretty full, as is the 29 bus. The services from/to that area aren't frequent enough at weekends and evenings Eh? There's a 10 minute local service isn't there? During weekdays there is, until the evenings which are much less frequent as are weekends. Last Sunday trains were every 30 minutes as the Hertford north branch was shut. The N29 is like 2am on a Friday or Saturday night.... as early as 10:30 on weekdays |

Every 30 mins to each of the Welwyn/Hertford branches (which makes it every 15 as far as Ally Pally). Which is not much compared to the 18tph off-peak Piccadilly service. Eh? It's every 10 minutes at Hornsey when I go there. When I caught the train the other day from Old Street to New Southgate (the train was bound for Welwyn GC), it stopped at Hornsey and Harringay, but skipped Ally Pally - the service pattern isn't quite as simple as it seems. -- Dave Arquati Imperial College, SW7 www.alwaystouchout.com - Transport projects in London |

So either tell me or shut up Colin has already *shown* you - but perhaps you didn't notice. On usenet, just as in real life, the idea is that you make your response AFTER the previous person's comment, not befo Comment 1 Response to 1 Comment 2 Response to 2 ADD NEXT COMMENT HERE Typing your reply in front of the text you are commenting upon is known as "top posting" and it makes the quotations unnecessarily difficult to follow because the natural order of debate has been reversed. -- Paul Terry Thank-you Loony T |

It also makes it easier for people who are blind to use a device that reads the message to them. It's also what everyone else does on this NG. Thank-you too Loony T |

You must have caught the 17:37 or 18:07 from Old St then. They're the only down trains that call at Haringey and Hornsey and skip Alexandra Palace. They are followed by the 17:42 and 18:12 that skip Haringey and Hornsey and call at Alexandra Palace. At least that's what Table 24 in front of me says. -- Colin Rosenstiel |

Was told by DOM at around 14:20 - for a 15:30 start. Actual was about 15:45. |
