Would you like to go on an underground train with no staff on the train? Who will tell you what to do in emergency? Who will direct you to the nearest exit when things go wrong? God (not one particular God I hasten to add) forbid there are any more bombs, but I think that in it's self is a fully justified reason to keep staff on trains. Doesn't seem to a problem on Line 14 in Paris and soon on Line 1. Or on the VAL system in Lyon, or soon on the L Line in New York. On the Piccadilly Line train the majoirity of passengers were evacuated by station staff from Kings Cross, not the Train Operator..... Rob. -- rob at robertwoolley dot co dot uk |
