Whilst in London last week I wanted to put 20UKP onto my card to take it
over the 100UKP mark, but every machine that I came across would only allow me to put on 5UKP to 89UKP. Is there an upper limit that keeps you below 100 UKP?. Thanks in advance. -- Clive |

This will automatically debit your bank account and credit your oyster card whenever you pass through a TFL:LU reader and your balance is £10. If you register now you can get £10 for free. I was going to do this but you have to visit a reader within 7 days, and that is not practical for me. |

The original idea was to pre load it to about 120UKP so that on a fortnights holiday in the Capital finding change or queuing at any time would not be necessary. -- Clive |

Depending on your plans, it may be possible to spend much less than this. I'm sure people here would help with suggestions. James |

On holiday, travel before 9.30 might not be required on many days. Some days might be buses-only. So Prepay seems sensible. But the solution is simple. Order Auto-top-up a few days before leaving for London. Your first Underground journey will activate it. |
