How long does it last for, where's the cheapest place to buy them etc. I was advised I needed two for a tram journey of about half a mile. So perhaps that's the minimum. I walked. Like you, I have a blind spot when it comes to knowing where to buy them. If I remember rightly, you validate one coupon for each zone you pass through, plus an additional coupon per journey - so yes, two coupons for a journey in one zone. If you travel through two zones then validate three coupons, three zones four coupons and so on. The great advantage with the Dutch system is that it applies nationally - so you can buy a long string of coupons and use them in whatever city you happen to be in. |

I've lived and worked in the north east as well as London and seen how derelict factory has given way to service industry. This doesn't change the fact that London is the powerhouse that drives our economy and everywhere else is secondary. Trying to suggest otherwise is immature. |

In article , Paul
writes Yes, that sounds familiar. The problem I had is that you need local knowledge about zones etc. I seem to recall that every bus/tram stop had a map showing at least the nearby zone boundaries, and the trams had strip maps showing them as well. -- Clive D.W.
