The guide couldn't tell me what the other one was, though. Does anyone here know? Sloane Square was famous for having a bar (often described as a pub) on the platform that was apparently used as a meeting place by several leading literary figures. Apparently Liverpool Street also had a bar on the eastbound Met/H&C/Circle though whether it was a walk in and sit down job I'm not sure. Baker Street and Victoria also seem to have had bars within the station but not on the platforms so the information you were given may be slightly incorrect. The one a Victoria was on the site of the current District line ticket office (the office not the public area) Dave |
