Could it be that since we've got capping, we don't really need 1DTCs? Don't forget the National Rail stations that are included in a ODTC but don't take pre-pay Oyster. |

writes Assuming most people would continue to buy travelcards on day of use, they would have to buy them at the station and the TfL business plan (and use of technology) is about getting sales out of stations. Quite a few of us buy our one-day travelcards in the newsagents next to the bus stop. I doubt they would make it a "from newsagents only" product. I'm sure they wouldn't, but I don't understand your point. I was responding to your statement that most people would have to buy ODTCs at the station. Huge numbers of ODTCs are sold (either on the day or in advance) from newsagents - the station is not the only option. -- Paul Terry |

In fact on the statement you get from Oyster detailing all transactions for the last 3 months 1am is 25:00 and 2.15am is 26:15. i.e. part of the previous day. So you're saying that Oyster take the day as being 04:30 to 28:29+ ? -- © John Stockton, Surrey, UK. Turnpike v4.00 MIME. © Web URL:http://www.merlyn.demon.co.uk/ - w. So you're saying that Oyster take the day as being 04:30 to 28:29+ ? For it to correctly capture the 1DTC behaviour, it would have to take it as being 0000 to 2830 - with the last four and a half hours also being in the next day (how does that work? nobody knows!). I believe it does act like a real 1DTC, and therefore this is what it does. I don't really have any evidence for this, though. tom -- You have now found yourself trapped in an incomprehensible maze. |
