Whilst making a short visit to the North Woolwich Railway Museum
(excellent place, highly recommended!) I noticed that in terms of bus services, King George V station is in a pretty rotten location. Despite the windswept desolation of the remaining NR-owned platform at North Woolwich, the station does enjoy very good bus links in the Foot Tunnel plaza. Is the materials staging area to the north of King George V close enough to a major road to allow it to be redeveloped into a bus station, thus replacing the one at the Foot Tunnel plaza? Or is it expected that when the Woolwich extension is opened, the bus routes serving the Foot Tunnel plaza will be emptied of cross-river passengers who have boarded at one of the other stations on the Woolwich branch? |
