Looking on Google Earth, it might be possible to cross the river via the weir at Hampton Court as well. The entry for Walton Bridge is not that clear. It is still possible to cross by vehicle there, a new bridge having been constructed. This is a temporary structure, though how temporary until the new bridge is built is anyone's guess. That saga has been going on for years. The old bridge is still in place as a footbridge. Its an original Bailey Bridge which I believe once attracted interest from the Imperial War Museum. Neill Walton Bridge is fully open. It is physically possible to cross at Hampton Court Weir over a access walkway above the weir, but this is not open to the public. Jon |
