Thanks for the comments - SWT clerk said there were no fares for boundary of zones "inwards" to London in the ticket machine. AIUI tickets are available *from* zone boundaries only, not *to* zone boundaries, but that it does not matter whether the direction is towards London or outwards. It does matter - there don't exist any fares "inwards" from Boundary Zones. |

For example, you can buy a ticket from boundary zone 2 to Wimbledon but not from Wimbledon to boundary zone 2 or you can buy a ticket from boundary zone 5 to Wimbledon but not from Wimbledon to boundary zone 5. What does this have to do with the OP's problem? He wants a ticket from BZ4 to Vauxhall. Despite one or two previous posters claiming to have bought such a ticket, other regular posts from ticketing gurus such as Barry Salter, and reference to the NR fares manual, indicate that a ticket from a boundary zone inwards does not exist. So how is someone with an outer zones travelcard who wants to go inwards supposed to do? Buy a point-to-point ticket that starts from the last station in the last zone that their Travelcard is valid in. |

Just examples along a railway line about what kind of zone boundary tickets it was possible to buy, but both me and Mizter T had got that wrong anyway, there are no inbound zone boundary tickets available, thanks asdf for correcting that. The only zone boundary tickets available are from an outer boundary of a zone outwards from London. So in this case, with a Travelcard for Z5-6 it is not possible to buy a zone boundary ticket to Vauxhall because that is a journey towards central London. -- Olof Lagerkvist ICQ: 724451 Web: http://here.is/olof |
