A month or two back I wondered what the new station would be known as, this
is from the latest FCC timetable, regarding the station change in December: 'First Capital Connect's station at King's Cross Thameslink will close in December 2007 and First Capital Connect will move to the brand new St Pancras International complex.' 'King's Cross Thameslink will close following the departure of the last train on Saturday 8 December and the first train on Sunday 9 December will depart from the new St Pancras International, which will be fully operational from that date.' http://www.firstcapitalconnect.co.uk...TLWeb%20LR.pdf Looks like there won't be a separate name... Paul Scott:
King's Cross Thameslink will close following the departure of the last train on Saturday 8 December Paul Cummins: The first "original" Metropolitan Railway" station to be fully closed IIRC. A sad day, and a historic one. Depends on what you count. In "London Underground Stations abc" it says that Farringdon Street station, as it was still known then, was "relocated a few yards to the east along Cowcross Street" when the line was extended to Moorgate in 1865, just under 3 years after it opened; presumably the new line diverged from the old one just before the station, and the new location was on the through route. So in effect that's a closure of the old station -- but not like this. -- Mark Brader | "Reality aside, we would like to deploy a methodology | for how Rooter might behave in theory."
