Getting to/from DLR seems a particular problem, is there a 'plan' available, or would I just be better off using Central Line to Bank for any interchange? If you're coming from the West Anglia line (and I think you are) you could also change at Tottenham Hale and Oxford Circus. (Two escalators at the former, cross-platform interchange at the latter). Less interesting and healthy than a stroll through the City but probably easier with luggage. I nearly always use Tottenham Hale rather than Liverpool St when using the West Anglia route from Cambridge. Even if you wanted DLR? In which case Tottenham Hale still makes sense. The "One" service from there to Stratford takes 14 mins - which is about the same time as it takes to get to Liverpool Street. Though it's not particularly frequent (twice-hourly at best). From Stratford the journey time to, say, Canary Wharf is 11 mins. On Sundays (which is when you said you were travelling) the West Anglia stopping trains from Cambridge to Liverpool Street currently go via Stratford anyway. PaulO |

PaulO That's the route I'm proposing to get to start of a walk up Lee Valley on Sunday. On other days I'd thought the interchange time from West Anglia 'slows' (I start from Shelford) is too great. I've walked Broxbourne to Bishop' Stortford I suspect Stratford to Broxbourne is further. Added constraint last W/E was meeting daughter at L/S Jim |
