But yes, back then the "big Met" terminated at Baker Street, and the "little Met" at Whitechapel, off-peak. The current service pattern only came in after the "little Met" became a line in its own right. (There were some other weird experiments with the sub-surface lines around the same time, such as sending the Olympia trains all the way to Edgware Road. But this was the only one that really stuck.) |
