Hi All,
Does anyone here know if it's possible to obtain a Network Railcard on-line? And if if not, how would someone living in Ipswich go about getting one? I've tried the obvious sites, One, National Rail and Railcard.co.uk but all seem determined to make it as difficult as possible to get hold of one. -- Cheers, Steve. Change jealous to sad to reply. |

http://www.railcard.co.uk/network tells you how to buy one:
"To apply for a Network Railcard, pick up a leaflet at any staffed rail station or rail appointed Travel Agent in the Network Railcard area. Or you can buy one over the phone; click here for the telesales number of your local train company." [But the "click here" isn't a working link.] Ipswich is, of course, just outside the area, so if you don't want to buy over the phone, you'd presumably have to go down the line to somewhere like Manningtree. -- David Biddulph "Steve Dulieu" wrote in message .uk... Network Railcard's cannot be bought online, nor would they be available at Ipswich as that is *outside* the Network Railcard area - as is shown on the Network Railcard map here (PDF): http://www.railcard.co.uk/clientfile...0map(2004).pdf or via http://tinyurl.com/2no67f You should be able to purchase Network Railcards from any staffed National Rail station in the Network Railcard area. They cost £20 for a year, and you don't need any proof of ID or photo, you just need to fill out the application form that's contained within the Network Railcard leaflet. More information on the Network Railcard can be found he http://www.railcard.co.uk/network Bear in mind that the Network Railcard is apparently rather unloved by many of the participating TOCs, hence they don't go out of their way to promote it - which presumably explains why it isn't available for purchase online. |
