Now that Bucklersbury House is finally being flattened, there are
plans to add a new entrance to the Waterloo and City line in the replacement development ("Walbrook Square"). This will be to the west of Walbrook (the street/river), and therefore quite some way to the west of the rest of Bank Station. So where will it fit in at platform level - are the cross passages really wide enough to have new access stairs/disabled-lifts half way along them, or will they fit it at the western end? Also, why did they get rid of the nice looking blue tiles by overpainting them with a rather bland white? |
