Default Railcard discounts on Oyster Prepay

Registered tonight at King's Cross St. Pancras Tube Ticket Hall, where
there is a large sign advertising railcard discounts on Oyster PAYG.
Took about 15 minutes, including the need to register my card. They
entered my photocard number, which I suppose means I am expected to take
it with me everywhere.

Interesting, they entered my railcard number - not the photocard!

Best Wishes,

Maybe the reason for not having a discount on Network Railcards or
Annual Oystercards is the lack of a photocard?

With a Network railcard it'll be the combination of the fact that the
weekday minimum fare is higher than the highest TfL single fare, or higher
than the most expensive off peak travelcard fare, and it isn't available
until after 10am.

Could work at weekends though...

Other options may include:
* Commercially they don't need to do this
* Commerically they don't want to do this
* Possible confusion regarding accompanying passengers
* Interface between routes covered by a non-Oyster gold card and the
routes over which the holder is using PAYG

Has anyone contacted TfL regarding this issue?

Senior Railcards, which are included, don't need a photocard. Annual
Gold Cards and Network Railcards however give no discount before 10:00
M-F (09:30 of other Railcards) and there is also the M-F minimum fare
of £10.00 for Network Railcards.

Roll on simplification!
