I just saw one of the Metronet/TfL blue and yellow locos going south
on the slow lines through Harrow & Wealdstone. What makes the working notable is that it was hauling just a single coach, which at a glance appeared to be in First Capital Connect's purple-with-magenta-bits-at- the-bottom livery. Quite strange. Anyone know if it was up to anything of interest? |

Anyone know if it was up to anything of interest? Well they are owned/operated by First GB Railfreight so could have been going anywhere! I sometimes see it in the Brixton are. They are only allowed on LUL on a number of small areas due to having no tripcock fitted, |

HST coaches need a barrier coach between them and a locomotive, so it's more likely to have been a sleeper coming back from refurbishment at Wolverton (Milton Keynes): http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/NewsItem.aspx?id=541 Though the only picture I can find shows them being transferred by road: http://andrew-chambers.fotopic.net/p45666851.html U -- http://londonconnections.blogspot.com/ A blog about transport projects in London |
