Exactly - i think of everything! They could even listen to the sound trail, if they bring their MP3 players: http://www.kingscrossvoices.org.uk/A...ound_Trail.asp Wow! I've never seen that before; isn't it amazing?! I might try and use some of that in another tour sometime. Actually, I do relatively little around KX/SP because there's a lot of competition in guiding there recently, with all sorts of people taking an interest in the area and quite a few tours going on. Little provincial me hardly get's a look in! ;-) As I said, this upcoming job is a bit different as I'm off to follow the course of the Fleet. Perhaps a more relevant example to this thread would be that other inverse square law of motion - the walking speed of a group of people is inversely proportional to the square of the number of people in it. :-) Square root, surely. |

I was wondering if he'd heard of it. :-) He's not only heard of it, he's done a lot of practical research on the matter, including work in Oxford and Cambridge. (Who says we tour guide types aren't academic??!!!) Some of my friends are Cambridge tour guides. :-) Some of us have had great fun showing tourists the rooms where insert name of royalty lived, Hitler's planned British HQ, the cathedral on Trumpington Street... -- Arthur Figgis Surrey, UK |

Hitler's planned British HQ, the cathedral on Trumpington Street... However, our preferred one is the house two doors away once lived in by the present Archbishop of Canterbury. We couldn't even interest an estate agent selling it in that one once! -- Colin Rosenstiel |
